001 / The story
Calm in the car, clear in the debrief.
Mees Houben competes against experienced drivers in the GT4 European Series, and works as a driving coach alongside his own programme. Mees swapped football for karting at Karting Genk, where he started together with his brother. Kimi Räikkönen was his hero. Today he combines school with a full racing programme, trains in the KNAF Academy, and works as an instructor on car-control courses. Coaching other drivers taught him to listen, ask the right questions and give clear feedback, and that makes him better with his own team.

NewsRace 2: victory from pole and a 1-2 for Speedy
Mees and Tomas Guedes finished the guest weekend in Italy in the best possible way: with a win. Mees started from pole position and held the lead until the driver change. Because of a 5-second pit-stop handicap, Tomas rejoined the track in P2, but he soon took the lead back and brought the car home in first place. With the second car finishing P2, the weekend ended with a 1-2 for Speedy Motorsport and GR Customer Racing. After the puncture in Race 1 cost a shot at the win, this was the perfect answer.

NewsPuncture ends fight for the win
Race 1 of the guest start in Italy promised a lot, but ended in disappointment. Tomas Guedes drove a strong opening stint. He took the lead and held it until the pit stop. Because of the 17-second pit-stop handicap, Mees rejoined the track in P8. From there, Mees drove a great comeback race. He worked his way up to P2 and was in the fight for the win. Then, three laps from the end, he got a puncture on a front tyre and had to give up the battle for victory. Tomorrow is a new chance. Mees starts Race 2 from pole position at 12:20.

NewsPole position on guest start in Italy!
Mees Houben has taken pole position for Race 2 on his guest start in Italy. He shares the car this weekend with Tomas Guedes, who qualified P2 for Race 1. A strong day for the team: Speedy Motorsport's second car joins Mees on the front row for Sunday's Race 2. Race 1 will be a test of patience. The team has to serve a 17-second pit-stop handicap, so the race will be won and lost in the stints around that stop.
