Season finale at Portimão: Mees Houben ready for the final round

From 16 to 18 October, Mees Houben will contest the final two races of his debut season in the GT4 European Series. The finale takes place at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão, and it carries extra meaning: it is the home ground of his Portuguese team, Speedy Motorsport. Mees looks back on a strong first year at international GT level. He finished on the podium on his debut at Paul Ricard, took third place at Misano and finished second in front of his home crowd at Zandvoort. Together with Lachlan Evennett in the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, he aims to end the season in Portugal with a strong result. Portimão is new ground for the GT4 European Series, as the current series races there for the first time. The 4.6 km circuit is known for its elevation changes, blind corners and fast sections, and has hosted MotoGP and two Formula 1 Grands Prix. Mees already knows the track: earlier this year he made a guest appearance here with Speedy Motorsport. One more weekend, two more races.
